News -> Thieves steal valuable art pieces
Three valuable pieces of art have been stolen from a pottery museum in Stoke-on-Trent.
It is thought the burglars forced their way into a workshop at Wedgwood in Barlaston overnight on 30 October.
A gold plated statue of a horse, a unique large vase with a ship on it and a blue jug with a fawn were stolen.
The museum's galleries are currently closed while a new research area and educational facilities are constructed. They should be completed by 2007.
The museum houses a priceless collection of pottery, manuscripts and pattern books from the 18th century.
Anyone with any information which could help is asked to contact police.
